WELLINGTON, April 26. New Zealand war medals have been issued to the following : — Captain George Rutt Burton, Taranaki Militia; Private W. Revell, Taranaki Militia ; Private W. Noa<l, Taranaki Rifle Volunteers ; Private Edwin Field, No 4 Company Taranaki Military Settlers; Trooper W. Batten, Taranaki Cavalry Volunteers ; Private C. H. Lovett, Wellington Rifle Ranger Volunteers.

CHRISTCHURCH April 28. Yesterday afternoon Roderick McKay was thrown from his horse at Waikari, and received injuries to his spine from which he is not expected to recover.

DUNEDIN, April 28. The Chamber of Commerce to-day resolved to ask the Government for a commission to enquire into tbe proceedings of the dock trust in relation to the floating of the last loan.
