WELLINGTON, April 10.
Repairs to the s.s. Bellinger, which sustained considerable damage through going on a reef near "Waitara three or four weeks ago, are nearly completed, and it is expected that ebe will come off tho patent slip to-morrow. Since she has been on the slip, 9 new plates and 18 new panes have been put into her. Her engines and boilers have also been overhauled. Capt. Leys, late of the Wallabi, is to have command, replacing Captain McCarthy. Mr. Peter Anderson, who was mate of the St. Kilda until she was laid up, is to be chief officer, the former occupant of the position having resigned. The engineer who was in her when struck has also left, and Mr. Griffiths, who was at one time in the s.s. Wallabi, is his successor. The Bellinger's charter has jast expired, but the Federated Seamen's Union have secured her for another term.
