The Union Bank has been requested to suggest to the Sydney Corporation the propriety of inscribing the last loans, Westgarth's Circular urges their inscription which would have the effect of extening their demand and improve their value. The report of the Bank of South Australia states thnt the declining value of money has slackened the demand in the colonies, and the Directors are not sanguine of any immediate improvement. The Reserve Fund has not been increased.. The Economist states that the German trading enterprises of Australia are remarkable, and the German Colonial Bank, which is projected, is amply warranted. Prince Bismarck is assisting largely in establishing the bank. Mrs. Anderson, the Australian soprano, has appeared at Brussels, where she created a furore. The Times says the result of the Bulgarian elections has provoked the Czar, who has threatened to renounce the Berlin treaty.
