THE NEW ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, July 4. A general description of the electorates is as follows : — EGMONT boundaries are — Summit of Mount Egmont to source of Waingongoro, thence by that river to the northern boundary of Block X., Ngaire Survey District; thence by th«t boundary produced due east to Patea river ; thence by that river to the borough of Patea; thence around borough boundary to the oceau ; thence by coast line tc the mouth of Okehu stream ; thence by that stream to its source ; thence to the starting point. The principal centres of population in the electorate are Hawera, Normanby, Manaia, Opunake, Eltham, and Kakaramea. NEW PLYMOUTH is much extended to the south, and now includes Okato, Parihaka, and Bahotu. The boundaries are — On the west and north, the ocean ; from the mouch of the Okehu stream to the mouth of the Waiwakaiho river ; on the west, ly that river to its source in Mount Egmont ; on the south, by the Okehu stream to its source in Mount Egmont. TAKANAKI is extended into the old electorate of Egmont. The boundaries of the new electorate are — Beginning on the summit of Mount Egmont by a line to the source of the Waiwalcaiho, thence by that river to the ocean, thence northerly along the const line to the outer limit of the surveyed land beyond Mokau ; the southern boundary is from Mount Egmont survey district, thence due east to Patea County boundary to Upper Wanganui river, aud by it at ri»ht lines through the uninhabited country to coast north of Mokau. The principal centres of population me Waitara, Inglewood, and Stratford, all on the line of the railway. WAITOTARA. The old electorate has been enlarged by the addition of the ridings of Wangaehu, including Lethbridse town district, Okaknpu, and Makohau from Bangitikei County, and by the upper Wsingaehu riding in Wanganui County and by part of Waverley riding ; also by Patea borough and town district of Waverley. It has been diminished by Westmere and Brunswick ridings, aud a strip along the east bank of the Wanganui River, including Campbelltown and Easttown, being added to Wanganui electorate, excluding Wanganui. The boundaries of the new Wai totara electorate are on the north of the thirty-ninth parallel of latitude (old provincial boundary) on the east Bumuiit of Kaimanawa range, counties of Hawke's Bay and Rangitikei to the riding of Makahau ; thence by the eastern boundaries of that riding nnd Wangaehu and Okakapu ridings to the ocean; on the south-west by the ocean to the mouth of the Patea river ; thence around Patea borough so as to include it : on tho north-east by the Patea river oounty boundary and upper part of the Wanganui river to the starting point.
