By Telegraph. — Reuter's Copyright. LONDON, June 20. Miss Ramsay, a student of G-irton College, heads the Cambridge classical trophies. At Saturday's wool sales, 10,700 bales were offered. The market is firm. The Directors of the New Oriental Bank Corporation have declared a dividend at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum, and have carried forward and placed to the reserve fund £22,000. At today's wool auction, 11,200 bales were offered. A firm, active demand prevails for all descriptions. (special to press association.) LONDON, June 18. The Gorman Sugar Bounties Bill has been read a second time in the Reichstag. The collapse of the wheat ring in Chicago has had a most disastrous effect on the grain trade. No fewer than 21 failures are reported already. The agitation against paj'ment of tithes in Wales, ■which was supposed to have collapsed, lias been renewed with increased rigor. The authorities frequently meet with resistance when attempting to enforce payment. At one place a riot took place w ith serious results, twenty persons being injured. Great difficulty is being experienced with the work of cutting the Panama Canal, and fears are expressed that the undertaking may have to be abandoned. June 19. Arrangements are being made by the English Government for a further withdrawal of troops from Egypt. A number of Alsatians have been imprisoned for two years for belonging to a French patriotic league. The division m the House of Commons on clause 6 of the Crimes Bill was 332 to IG3. The Parnellite faction are now despondent of carrying any amendments. Great military activity is being carried on in the Transcaspian stations, and Dhuleep Singh has petitioned the Czar for help.
