MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN'S STOCK REPORT.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, August 13. Horses. — The number brought forward last Friday was shorter than usual, and below an average number changed hands. Competition was moderately good, and most of the lots were cleared at prices submitted to by vendors. TTe quote hacks at from £& 10s to £9 15; light draughts jeiO to JEI4; heavy draughts, JE2S. \ Wool, Hides, Skins, and Tallow. — Good, heavy hides were in ,brisk demand. We quote heavy ox hid«s at from Id to Hd. per lb ; light, from 3d; calf skins, i\d ; skins, Is lid to 3s 4d e.och ; tallow, 12s Gd to 138 6d per cwt. Fat Cattle. — The supply has been adequate, but not excessive. There was a perceptible advance in the price of fat stock at the Newmarket yards on Tuesday. More fat oxen would have found purchasers at an advance on the previous week's values, being from 16s to 21s per 100 lbs. Fat Sheep. — There was a small number at Newmarket on Tuesday, and prices were in favor of vendors, from Is to 2s per head, as compared with the previous week. Wethers, 11s to 16s 9d ; ewes, 10s 6d to 13s. Pigs- — Pigs were in moderate supply, but were not keenly competed for, good pigs having been disposed of at 2d per lb live weight, while local dairy fed pigs barely reached 2|d.
MR. ALFRED BUCKLAND'S STOCK REPORT. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, August 13. Fat Cattle— Full numbers, but many of second quality. Only last week's prices were reached, varying 1 from 10s to 20s, and averaging 18s per 1001b.
