NEW MAORI DIFFICULTY.

Just as we were going to press, it is reported that the Maoris are ploughing on Mr. Lysaght's leasehold, on a part of which the latter lately bought the tenant right from Mr. Hobbs. A policeman is said to have gone out to inquire into the affair.

Since writing the above, we learn from Mr. F. Lysagbt that the natives this morning began to erect a large whare or meeting-house, on Mr. Lysaght's freehold; on being told to desist, they declined, and laughed when warned that tbey might be Bent to Dunedin gaol, as in 1879.

Latest.

The Maoris threaten to enclose and plough any portions of native leaseholds, from Whenuakura to White Cliffs, that take tbeir fancy.
