Mr. Sutherland, senior, was thrown out alongside the metal, and was stunned for a few minutes ; Mr. J. Sutherland had his back badly braised. Several passersby gave a hand and took the boree out of the buggy, which was slightly damaged. Mr. Sutherland, sen., was placed in it and wheeled to Dr. Alexander's, where his injuries were attended to. At the time he complained chiefly of a severe bruise on the hip, but did not appear to be seriously injured, though be was badly shaken by the severe fall. He is getting on as well bb can be expected to-day.

Auction by Nolan, Tonks and Co. tomorrow of timber on premises of Southey and C 0. —11.30 a.m. Messrs. Kirk, Duff, and Co. intend to offer special inducements to cash customers ; and certain special lines will be offered at exceptional prices for cash on Saturday's only, so that country customers may participate. We would draw the public's attention to C. C. Fleming's Cash Boot Sale ; and as C. C. Fleming is positively closing his Hawera branch, the public will have the benefit of cheap boots' and shoes for the next week or two. We recommend customers to give an early call, and get the pick of this large stock. — Advt.
