PRESENTATION TO BRO. 11. G.

PITCHER.

The ceremony of installing the officers of Lodge Hawera, No. 032, S.C, took place last night at tho Masonic Temple. After the usual routine of business had been gone through, Bro. Smith, P.M., took the chair as installing officer, and the following officers were duly invested : —

Bros. J. K. Ferguson, R.W.M. ; W. Pinches, S.W. ; J. B. lunes, J.W. ; C. H. Bowman, Sec. ; E. Kempthorne, T. ; F. Bailey, S.D. ; J. Duffill, J.D. ; J. Brown, I.G-. ; D. Hurley, Tyler.

The Installing Master then delivered ail impressive address to the newlyinstalled officers, charging them to work harmoniously with their brethren ; be punctual iv their attendance, aud courteous iv their behaviour.

At the conclusion of the installation cereinouy, the Installing Master rose and said : Bro. Pitcher, I have just had placed iv my hands this jewel, which the brethren desire me to present to you as a token of their esteem, and regard towards yourself duriug the two years you have filled tho chair as Master of this lodge. It is needless for me to say that the duty is an exceedingly pleasant one. It shows the high opinion the brethren entertain of you, and I trust you may long be spared to wear the jewel which I now have the pleasure of handing to you. In thanking tho brethren,

Brother Pitcher said: Worshipful Sir and brethren, I must tender yon my earnest thanks for the handsome present given to me this evening. It has come quite unexpectedly, and I, therefore, am not at all prepared to speak my thanks as I should have liked to do, had I had time to prepare a reply. During my term of office I have endeavoured to discharge the duties of Master of the Lodge to the best of my ability, and I am proud to know that the bretliern are satisfied. As a Lodge wo have had to struggle against many difficulties, but we have only to work as harmoniously in the futuro as we have done iv the past to ensure success. Iv conclusion, allow me, brethren, to again thank you for your handsome present. The jewel, which is an exceedingly handsome one, is surmounted with two clasps and square. On the face — which is studded with diamonds and rubies — are the square, the scroll, aud the 47th problem in euclid ; attached is a pendant, square, and compasses, with the All-Seeing Eye. On the reverse side is the following inscription : " Presented to Brother H. G. Pitcher, P.M., by the brethren of Lodge Hawera, No. 052, S.C. December, 18«2."

After the presentation the lodge was closed in the usual manner, and the brethren sat down to a light repast which was laid in the hall, and over which a very enjoyable hour was spent.

Hollo way's Pills. — Dyson try, diarrhiKa, and disordered bowels. — These maladies are ever present, ami if left unattended frequently terruiuate fatally. It should be everywhere known that all complatns originate in the presence of some undigested substance in the stomach or bowels, or of some deleteroug matter in the blood, and that Holloway's pills can eliminate either with ease and expedition. They combine in a surprising degree purifying, alterative, regulating, and strengthening qualities, and thus exert over every internal organ the wholesomely controlling iuflueuces so necessary for subduing excessive action in the human frame. Holloway's mediciue may be advantageously taken as a means of keeping the blood pure and the body cool — the only practicable plan of maintaining health in youth, in manhood, and iv old age.
