FATAL ACCIDENT.

Yesterday afternoon a shocking fatal accident occurred in High-street, nearly opposite Morrish's hotel. Mrs. Helyer was riding along quietly when her horse suddenly became restive and reared. She checked the animal rather hastily, and as she was riding with a curb, this brought the horse right over, Mrs. Helyer being severely crushed. She was removed to her husband's house, which was close handy, and Dr. Smith was quickly in attendance. He found her totally unoonscious, and though every effort was made to restore her, she never gained consciousness, nor rallied in the least, expiring at about 8.45 p.m. Deceased had sustained concussion of the brain, and severe internal injuries. Deceased, leayes no children. An inquest will be held at noon to-morrow, by Captain Wray and a jury.
