GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.
At the sale to-day, the Town Hall was only thinly attended. There was very little competition for the land, and at the close of the business the Commissioner remarked that apparently the demand for bush land had been satisfied. Probably the smallness of the area offered affected the sale, as there was no sufficient inducement held out to purchasers at a distance to come to the sale, the quantity of land being only small. * LAND ON DEFERRED PAYMENT. Block XIII. —Kaupokonui.
CASH LAND. Thirty sections were offered, but only three were sold, as follows :—Block XIII., Kaupokonui: Sections 25 and 26, each of 100 acres, at the upset price of £2, to H. R. Parrington. Block V., Ngaire: 148 acres, to Mr. Davy, at the upset price of 30s. per acre.
