THE BOROUGH OF HAWERA PROCLAIMED.

WELLINGTON, This Day.
A notice in the Gazette proclaims Hawera to be a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act. William Henry Endell Wanklyn is to bo Town Clerk of the Borough of Hawera, and lieturning Officer to conduct the first elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors of the said borough. It also appoiuts Tuesday, 7th February, for the election of Mayor ; Wednesday, Bth February, for the election of Councillors ; and Thursday, 9th February, for the election of Auditors of the said borough ; and Friday, 10th February, for the first meeting of the Council.
