(FROM OUR OWN 00RRESP0NDBKT.) '. A meeting of the Harbor Board was held on Wednesday, to consider the recommendation of • a committee' •of >the Board that extra wharfage dues should.be imposed. A petition to. the Board was circulated in the morning, praying that' tbey would seriously -take into consideration the consequences of such an iinposi- ■■ tion before committing themselves, it j would tend to drive trade away which it would be hard to regain. The Board, I acting on the tone of the petition, evidently considered it would be unwise at preser^ i to cawy the committee's *eoon}n>6adAt«m' into effect ; and by the casting yeJ?e""of - '" the chairman, rejected the same ifor the present. / I regret to have to report the death of I the second son of Mr. Jol/n Whelan, ; which took place on Sunday/morning. * I learn that Mr. McEae's/boiling-dowa establishment has been sold to Messrs.
