MELBOURNE, Nov. 11.
The Melbourne Age publishes a special telegram from London stating that the Daily News of the 7fch instant contains a leading article on the preseut native crisis in New Zealand, and warmly approves of the rigorous action of the Government in dealing with Te Whiti and his followers.
SYDNEY, November 11.
In the Assembly last night, on the adjourned debate on the Milburn Creek Mine inquiry, Sir Henry Parkes moved that Garrett, member for CaiiKleti, was unworthy of confidence, in consequence of his action in connection with the award to the company. Gavrett made an elaborate speech in his ov/u defence, and the motion was finally rejected, by 40 to 38.
Sir John Robertson, Vice-President oi" the Executive Council, and representative of the Government iv the Legislative Council, has resigned his portfolio. The actual cause of this has not transpired, but is • believed to be due to a difference between Sir John Robertson aud his colleagues in regard to the policy of the Government.
