LONDON, October 29.
Arrests of prominent agitators continue to be made iv Ireland, under the Viceroy's warrant. Among those recently placed in custody, is Mr. McHale, Catholic Priest.
In answer to a deputation of leading Irishmen, Mr. Gladstone, yesterday, stated that the Land Commission had so far shown that it worked well, and he was hopeful that its decisions would result in securing permanent peace and prosperity to Ireland.
There are no chnnges to report to-day in the money and produce markets. Galvanised iron, 26 guage, has advanced to £18 ; best Sydney i opra remains at £IG.
PARIS, October 29.
Gambetta, President of the Chamber of Deputies, had an interview to-day with President Grevy. No particulars of the meeting have yet transpired.
BERLIN, October 29.
The elections to the German Reichstag have resulted unfavorably for the Government, which has now no working majority in Parliament. Among the defeated ministerial candidates was a son of Prince Bismark. There has been a large increase in the number of the socialist candidates elected to the Reichstag.
