THE ALLEGED NEW PLYMOUTH HOSPITAL SCASDAL. TO THE EDITOS OF THE STAB. Sic, — In reply to the letter by " Pro Bono Publico," in regard to funeral charges at New Plymouth hospital, I beg to state that the facts of the case are as follows : — I was requested by the hospital steward to furnish a funeral for Mrs. May ; the total account amounted to Jt'lO, and not £22, as stated by your correspondent. The items were — Hearse £2 155. ; one- mourning carriage, ordered through. Mr. May, 10s. ; cemetery charges', 18s. ; funeral notice, Taranaki Herald,' 3s. 6d. ; hospital account, £1 ; furnishing funeral, registered set furniture, .£4 13s. 6d. The whole of the above was ordered and approved by Mr. May, who expressed himself quite satisfied when he paid me. — I am, Ac, F. W. Revell, Undertaker, New Plymouth Hospital. I Hawera, Oct. 20.
