INTERPROVINCIAL NEWS.

(FROM OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night.

The excursionists to Hawera yesterday were very well pleased with their visit, but many expressed their surprise at the high prices given for the land. They fail to see its value at such extraordinary high figures, and say that when the land mania is over many will live to repent of their purchases. I have not heard of any persons from New Plymouth investiug yesterday, although several attended the sale with the view of doing so.

The funeral of Mr. Cottier, sen., took place to-day. It was very numerously attended. The deceased, who was father of the well-known hotelkeeper, died from fatty degeneration of the heart.
