LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Friday, July 22. In the Council to-day, the Hon. M£ Whittaker promised to make an enquiry into the accident on the Invercargill railway on Saturday last. , _,„ _^ .
NEW BILLS. The Banks and Bankers Bill, and the Regulation of Elections Bill were read a third time and passed. The Adoption of Children Bill and the Licensing Bill were read a second time. The Inspection of Machinery Bill passed through committee, and progress was reported in the Drainage BUI.
