FIRE AT GREYTOWN.

I Specially Telegraphed to Star.|

[PEE UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Last Night.

Fabian Brothers' large store was burnt to the ground last night. An alarm was given about twelve o'clock. No person Blept on the premises. The origin of the fire is a mystery. Nothing was saved. The store was very heavily stocked. The fire must have been smouldering some time.

The following were the insurances on the building : — Victoria Company, £500; flew Zealand, £300. Stock— Northern Oompany, £1000; Liverpool, London, and Globe* £500; Victoria, £1000. Of the latter amount, £500 iB re-insured in the South British, and £25C in the Union.

Wilton's blacksmith's shop, on the opposite side of the road, was also destroyed. It was insured for £75, but in what office is unknown.
