AUSTRALIANS V. NELSON.

(per united press association.) Nelson, Last Night. The s.s. Wakatu, with the Australian cricketers, arrived at the wharf on Wednesday afternoon, after a rough passage of 17 hours. The ground was in magnificent condition. The Nelson team's first innings closed for 83. The highest scorers being — Fowler, 30 ; Halliday, 14. The Australians were all disposed of for 72, being 11 behind the Nelson men. Nelson made 77 in their second innings. The game ended in a draw, on Thursday, there being no time to finish the match.
