SALE OE MR. MITCHELL'S PROPERTIES.
On Friday last, Messrs. T. K. Macdonald and Co., the well-known auctioneers in Wellington, held a sale of properties belonging to the Zate Mr. Mitchell. There was a large attendance, and the sale was considered a satisfactory one. The following are the particulars : —

The total proceeds of the sale amounted to £9,961 9s 3d.
It is satisfactory to learn (remarks the Post) that although the auctioneers advertised that purchasers eouM obtain a Jarge proportion of th purchase money on mortgage, yet not one came forward to ask for it ; and the fact that i-10,000 can be raised within a month by the purchasers, seems a practical proof that the settlers of the Wellington districts have faith and means to purchase the land surrounding them.
