At the E.M. Court, ■ the case of Williamson v. Prudential Insurance Co., to recover the amount of a policy of insurance by a widower on the life of his deceased wife, it was shown that her declaration at the time of making the insurance that she was in good health was false, as she suffered from aneurism of the aorta. Judgment was given for defendants. The Maori difficulty at Horahora has been satisfactory settled. The chief has given orders to abstain from obstructing the ploughing. "Wellington, Last night. The new Agent-General, Sir F. D. Bell, was expected in Wellington yesterday, to confer with Ministers re West Coast native affairs. He will sail for England by the Orient Co.'s s.s. Potosi. It has been settled that his appointment is for four years definitely. There was glorious weather for the Lyell's Bay Races, Volunteer Review, and the Friendly Societies' Fete, which were held to-day. All the sports were largely attended. The City of Sydney, with the London mails of the 7th October, left 'Frisco for Auckland on the 23rd October, two days earlier than the time table sailing date. The Australia, with the October colonial mails, arrived at 'Frisco on the 2nd November, two days in advance of contract date.
