He leaves for England almost immediately. • ' At a meeting of the Executive Council to-day» it was decided that the law should take its course in respectf to Ab Le»t Chinaman, who lies under a sentence of death for the Kyeburn murder. Dunedin, Tuesday night. A fire broke out at a boarding-house in View-street, occupied by Mrs. Wilkinson. The premises were completely gutted. It is supposed the cause was the bursting of a kerosene lamp. - Auckland, Tuesday nighfr. The Fijiaus in Auckland are very much annoyed at the murderer Joe being termed a Fijian, when he is a New Hebrides Islander. They are forty in number, and give a week's wages each for the relief of the widow of the murdered man Rees, also for Mrs Arnold, widow, who. was murderously attacked by Joe. A two-roomed cottage, occupied by a family named Murray, was entirely destroyed by fire to-day, at 2 o'clock. There was no one in the house at the time, and the fire is supposed to have originated from a spark from the stove. There was no insurance, and the family are left almost destitute. The present season will be one of the most favorable for wool growers and agriculturalists yet experienced in this district. Chbistchueoh, Tuesday night. The origin of the fire appears to have been through a spark alighting on a towel hung in front of the ' fireplace.
