TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
(From the Taranaki Herald.) Monday, 27th Septembeb. ranger's report.
The Banger reported : — " Mr. Godkin's application is for allotment 72, block 6, Ngaire, containing 5 acres. This is a very broken piece of land, being cut up by the Mangaweraw°'ra stream. On this account it is of very little value, excepting in regard to position, being on the Mountain road, and therefore convenient for a working man. I think that the land should be sold at the lowest value, viz., £2 per -acre." — It -was decided to oSex the land at that valuation.
PRICE OF ALLOTMENTS.
Letters were received from Messrs. J. Kirkpatrick and S. James, asking the board to reduce the price of the sections held by them on deferred payments at Ngaire, as the holders of adjoining sections had obtained their sections at a much lower price.
The board decided to inform the applicants that it had no power to comply with their request.
VILLAGE OF ELTHAM.
• The Chief Surveyor laid ( on the table a plan of the proposed village of Eltham. Mr. Standish moved, and Mr. Syme seconded, " That the commissioner write to the Government stating that it is impossible to sell the sections at Eltham until the bush is felled, and' that the work might now be done cheaply."
