London, September 15.
At the wool sale to-day 8300 bales were offered, making a total of 220,100 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sales has continued firm.
The cricket match, Australians versus Sussex, which was interrupted owing to heavy rain, was resumed to-day. The Australians continued then* first innings, and scored 154. The home team then went to the wickets for their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn, had lost two wickets for 156 (sic). The weather again became showery, and play being stopped, the match was not finished.
Further intelligence to hand from the Cape of Good Hope states that Letherodi, a Basuto chief, attacked the Cape Bine's on Monday, but ■were repulsed.
