Constantinople, September 12.
The Sultan has issued an Imperial Ukase dismissing Kadri Pasha, and appointing Said Pasha President of the Council of State. It is hoped this change will lead to a peaceful solution of the Eastern question.
London, September 12.
. A serious railway accident occurred at Vauxhall to-day. Twp trains came into collision, and thirty-four passengers were killed and wounded.
September 13. Generals Stewart and Roberts have received the Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath.
The Australians cricketers played a match against eighteen of the Clydesdale Club at, Glasgow. The Home team went in first, and were not disposed of till they had scored 224. The Australians then went to the wickets, but only succeeded in putting together 111. They had to follow on, and in the second innings, when time was called, they had lost one wicket for 47 runs. The match was drawn in favor of the Glasgow team. The weather was showery during both days' play. The Australians play a match at Bradbury on the 20th instant, and one at the Crystal Palace, against the Players, on the 27th. The latter will be their final match in England. Calcutta, September 13. General Roberts' third brigade has marched to Pishean, on the road to the Bolan Pass from Candahar.
General Roberts has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Madras army.
