WHAKAMARA SCHOOL.
In accordance with the announcement published in our columns, a meeting of householders in the Whakamara district was held at Messrs. Dunton and Barnett's residence on Saturday evening, for the purpose of forming a school district, and elect ing a committee. There were about thirteen .or fourteen householders present, and Mr. F. J. Gane was elected chairman. The following nominations we.re received: — Mr. Edwards, proposed by Mr. Holgerson, seconded by Mr. Pain ;• Mr. G-. W. Gane, proposed by Mr. Pearee, seconded by Mr. Edwards ; Mr. Bremer, proposed by Mr. G-. W. Gane, seconded by Mr. Pain,- Mr. Pain, proposed by Mr. Wallace, seconded by Mr. , Pearee ; Mr. Allan, proposed by Mr. Duirs, seconded by Mr. Edwards ; Mr. Wallace, proposed by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Edwards;- Mr. Williams, proposed by Mr. Holgerson, seconded by Mr. G. W. Gtane ; Mr. Bremer, proposed by Mr. Wallace*, seoimAeA hy Mr. J?earce ; Mr. F. J. Gane, proposed by, Mr. Edwards, seconded .by Mr. Holgerson; and Mr. M. F. Baird, proposed by Mr. G. W. Gane, seconded by Mr. Duirs. The polling resulted as follows : — G. W. Gane, 14; Pain, 11 ; Bremer, 11 ; Williams, 11 ; F. J. Gane, 10; Wallace, 10; Edwards, 10; Allan, 7; Baird, 2. The seven highest were declared elected. On thie motion of Mr. Williams,, seconded by Mr. Edwards, Mr.-F. J. Gane
