THE ROYAL COMMISSION TO BE CONTINUOUS.
(from otjr own correspondent.) Wellington, Saturday night.
I have just learnt, from what I believe to be a reliable source, that the West Coast Eoyal Commission is to be a continuous affair. I hear that Sir F. Dillon Bell will pay a visit to your district in the course of a few days ; but lam unable to state exactly for what purpose. I 'is c been told that he will probably seek an interview at Parihaka with Te Whiti, but as to the truth or otherwise of this rumcr I am wholly unable to inform your readers.
Things are rather dull just now — politically and otherwise, Most of the Ministers are away. The Hon. Major Atkinson left on Thursday for New Plymouth in the Hinemoa, and Mr. T. Kelly, M.H.R., was also a passenger by the government steamer.
