Wanganui, August 25. "Mr. Freeman R. Jackson reports:—At the yards to-day the attendance was good, •and prices were in favor of the vendors for store cattle. Beef dull, but a £oort demand for sheep. The yards were weH fif fed, am{ ' a good sale was effected. Settle. —219 head came forward—Fat cows, £6 5s to £7 ; well-grown 3-year-old steers, £6 7s 6d to ..£7 ; steers, £2 17s 6d; cows, £3 10s to J55; yearlings, £2 to £2155. -Sheep.—s2l were penned—Fat wethers, 12s 9d to 143 6d; ewes, lls to lls 9d; store ewes, 8s Od to 9s Od. Pigs. — Young porkers, 12s; larger animals, up to 31s. Horses.—Hacks, £5 to .£10; screws, 208 to 30a. Land.—l placed during 1 the week Dr. Esirle's farm at Maxwell, at .£ll per acre; •aud 359 aores of land, near Waitotara, brought '£o 10s at auction to-day. I Exportß.—l43 cattle, 1408 sheep, and 105 pigs.
