Cablyle, Friday. The three tenders for the Kakaramea railway contract were opened on Tuesday last, and the contents wired to Wellington. The result is not yet stated, but Mr. Walton Fell's tender is understood to be much below those of Messrs. O'Sullivan and Wilkie, and Mace and Bassett.

An' additional twenty-five of the Wellington unemployed arrived here yesterday, and were at once placed at work -with the others.

A concert took ploceTat Kakaramea last evening, with the object of raising a fund to enlarge the Town Hall there. Several ladies and gentlemen from Fatea and Hawera assisted. A dance- took place in the hall afterwards.
