SHIFTING OF THE NGAKUMIKUMI CAMP.

Kaikahu, Yesterday. j The Armed Constabulary camp was shifted from Ngakumikumi to a place called Pungarehu, which is only about two miles from Parihaka, and is now close to the fences which the Maoris persist in erecting across the road. This morning the telegraph box was imrnediateiy erected, and communication was established- by 11 a.m. The new road made by the Constabulary was used the whole distance. The natives presented a few kits of potatoes to the force. The Hon. John Bryce was present at the new camp whilst the tents were being pitched, and it is thought that he will remain there for some time.
