The Secretary of State for the Colonies has announced that he has been informed that the Commissioners appointed by the New Zealand Govemznent for the settlement of the Wa'inate Plaius dispute had had a satisfactory interview with Titokowaru and other chiefs, and that an amicable settlement of the difficulty was expected to be brought about. Paris, June '2o. The President of the French Council of Ministers has made a proposal that . a, plenary amnesty should be granted to all the Communists who are yet undergoing imprisonment.
