Wellington, Tuesday, night. In the House of Representatives to-day, Mr. J. B. Fisher asked a question as to whether the Statutes passed during the last two sessions were in force, owing to the Government neglecting to gazette them. Mr. Hall promised to see to the matter. In answer to questions, the Government stated that tho advance of £40,000 to the Waimea Railway was made under claus^lOjjf the Public Revenues Act. It was dot intended to make Waste Land Boards elective. The Government contractors would be obliged to pay workmen fortnightly. The negotiations for the purchase of the Hot Lakes district were still far from complete, as the natives did not wish to sell. In committee, the. Regulations of Elections Bill came on for discussion, and the proposal tp limit tho right of voting to one district at general elections was proceeding vthen the message was telegraphed.
