THE PROPERTY TAX.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR.

Sir, — Seeing posters, calling attention to the fact that particulars in reference to the Property Tax are to be given iuthis month, I should like to know if there are none of our public men who intend to move in the matter; for on perusing the Wellington Chronicle, of May 29th, I find it is there stated that Dunedin and Wellington are about to set us an example in this matter, which not only these places mentioned, but the whole of New Zealand, should follow with energy and alaricity, and call public meetings to protest against the tax being collected.

Hoping to see steps taken, and thanking you for insertion. — I am, &c, Settler.
