House Damaged

LOWER HUTT FIRE CALLS

The Lower Hutt Fire Brigade received five calls during the past week. One case of property involved was at a six-roomed house in Laery Street owned by Mr. E. Wimpory, of Christchurch, and. occupied by Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Irwin. When Mrs. Irwin left the house at 4.30 p.m. there was ho sign of fire,, but when the brigade received the call at 5.21 the kitchen was well ablaze. The outbreak was confined to the kitchen, which was considerably dam : aged. Slight damage was done to the contents. E About f>.4 5 on Monday evening an 'outbreak occurred in the Public Works Department's workshop " in Gracefield Road. Slight damage was done. The Lower Hutt, Petone and Hutt Park Brigades turned out.
