Riddiford Baths

PLANS TO MAKE TEPID

~~ The joint committee representing Hutt "Valley municipalities is to b'e asked by the Lower Hutt City Council to form a deputation to the Hutt Electric Power Board, seeking a special rate for power for heating Riddiford Baths. A resolution to that effect was carried by Khe Council on Monday night, on ithe motion of Cr. H. V. Horlor. I Cr. W. C. Gregory considered the jiaths are the best in the district, fend all local bodies will probably Ejoake use of them. KwCr. P. Dowse said the deputation have the backing of 60,000 "people. The Council could expect ttie support of other local bodies, would all benefit and whicn were all in the Power Board area. The engineer's report- on the fcaths was deferred to a future ineeting. The engineer stated that it would be impossible to obtain the necessary equipment before August or September of next year.
