SOFTBALL

HUTT COMPETITIONS The Hutt Valley Softball Association held the second day of the competition games under ideal conditions.

A game which created a great deal of interest was the one played at North Park No. 2 between Railways (Adamac Ravens 1947) and Belmont, the latter team having been regraded senior A. The. result was Railways 20, Belmont 18.

For Railways Miss Boyd, at pitcher, A. Coulson, 3rd base, and M. Jansen, at catcher, played well, although once or twice the Belmont girls had them on their toes. Railways showed superior infield play all through, and' this paid dividends. For Belmont their new centre field, P. Paclcwood, showed up with good support to her two outfield team mates and also in the batting. Also the Neilson twins played ’well on Ist and 3rd bases.

On November 20 at the Speedway Hutt will play Railways.
