HUTT v. WELLINGTON
A two-day match between Wellington and Hutt Valley resulted in a draw. Scores were:
Wellington, first innings, 238; second innings, seven wickets for 108. Hutt, first innings, 172.
REPRESENTATIVE PRACTICE At a meeting of the Hutt Valley Cricket Association it was reported that no championship points will be recorded for the first round of club matches, both days of which were ■postponed because of wet weather. Representative practices will be held at the Hutt Recreation Ground on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with Ken James, official coach to the association, in attendance on Wednesdays. The association is also purchasing 15 caps for use by the representative team in its future matches. After the Hutt Valley v. Wanganui match at Wanganui next month, challenges for the Hawke Cup will be in the following order: —(1) The winner of the elimination match between Wairarapa and Nelson. (This match is to be played by the end of January, 1949.) (2) The winner of the elimination match between Taranaki and Rangitikei. (This match is to be played not later than February, 1919.)
