Clean up Day

COUNCILLOR’S SUGGESTION

At the last meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council Councillor E. F. Rothwell made a suggestion to the works committee that it should consider the matter of holding a clean-up day in Lower Hutt.

Such a day was being held in Wellington in connection with the Royal visit, said Councillor Rothwell. It should not need a Royal visit as a spur. There had not been a cleanup day in Lower Hutt for some time, .and probably a lot of rubbish had accumulated.. He was sure there would be a substantial response to such a suggestion.

A clean-up week will be held in Petone from Monday, November 22, to Friday, November 2(i. This cleanup week applies to residential properties only. All proprietors of factory and business premises must make their own arrangements for loading and carting away business refuse.
