Epuni Scout Group

ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Ist Epuni Scout Group was held in the hall of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr. L. Woolley; president, Mr. Brocklesby; chairnuyi, Mr. W. Logan; secretary, Mrs. F. Dyer; treasurer, Mr. Jacobson: committee, Mesdames Gilbert, Jamieson, Millward, Murphy, Wellwood, Miss Monigatti, Messrs. Bach, Barker, Murphy, Wellwood and Scrimgeour; Scoutmaster, Mr. J. Bugg; Cubmaster, Miss J. Wilson.

The chairman, in his report, expressed thanlss to all who had assisted throughout the year, and stated that the past year had been a quiet one compared with the one preceding, when many efforts were successfully made to secure the necessary funds to send two Scouts from the group to the World Jamboree. Also, owing t,o the poliomyelitis outbreak and the resulting restrictions imposed on Scouting activities, all camps had to be cancelled during the summer months. A large Scout Hall, continued the chairman, has become a pressing need for the district. The Troop has the plans and permission to proceed with the building, but lacks the funds, so looks forward to support for iMs worthy object. The chairman's report and the balance sheet were adopted.
