Water Heating

RESTRICTION OF ELEMENT Reporting to the Hu’tt Valley Electric Power Board last week the general manager-engineer, Mr. I. RRobinson, recommended that • the present practice of restricting water heating elements to 750 watts should be continued. He stated that with an unrestricted supply the cost to the Board of larger elements would be higher, and with a restricted supply the average consumer can obtain a reasonable service with a 7 50-watt element.

The recommendation was adopted, the chairman, Mr. J. Huggan, stating that consumers in the Hutt Valley were fortunate, for in Palmerston North water heating elements were restricted to 600 watts.
