INCREASE IN CONSUMERS Returns presented at the last meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board showed that power purchased during the quarter ended June CO totalled 31,091,110 units, compared with 25,486,621 units during the same period last year, an increase of 6,504,495 units or 25.5 per coni.

During June 128 new installations were connected to the Board’s system, bringing the total installations to 19,910 domestic (18.540 in the same month last year), 2052 commercial (1879), and 898 industrial (827).

The number of consumers at June 30 was .22,181, compared with 20,615 at the same date last year, an increase of 1566 or 7.60 per cent.
