INCREASE IN CONSUMERS Returns presented at the last meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board showed that power purchased during the quarter ended June CO totalled 31,091,110 units, compared with 25,486,621 units during the same period last year, an increase of 6,504,495 units or 25.5 per coni.
During June 128 new installations were connected to the Board’s system, bringing the total installations to 19,910 domestic (18.540 in the same month last year), 2052 commercial (1879), and 898 industrial (827).
The number of consumers at June 30 was .22,181, compared with 20,615 at the same date last year, an increase of 1566 or 7.60 per cent. Other increases were: Ranges connected, 10,349 (9,125), increase of 1,224 oi' 13.40 per cent.; water heaters connected 11,172 (9,900), increase of 1,27 2 or 12.84 per cent.; connected load in kilowatts 24 8,418 (221,619), increase of 26,799 or 12.09 per cent.; combined system K.V.A. -peak for quarter to date, 29,772 (25,685), increase of 4,187 or 16.29 per cent.; units for period increase of 2,351,086 or 22.1 per (5 weeks) 12,986 771 (10,635,685). cent.; units for quarter to date 31,991,116 (25,486,621), increase of 6,504,495 or 25.5 per cent.; units for financial year to date 31,991,116 (25,486,C21), increase of 6,504,495 or 25.5 per cent.
