OLD FOLKS’ ASSOCIATION

The Old Folks’ and Pensioners’ Association held its monthly meeting in the Labour Hall, Petone. There was a good attendance of members and friends. If was decided that the committee’s recommendation (o have the Club registered he adopted and the City Council be asked to allow a street day in November. Mrs. Lepper gave two enjoyable items and Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. 1 Knox each two laughable elocution items. Miss Worth came from Wellington to play the piano for community singing.

The guessing competition was drawn, Mrs. Bell being the lucky winner. Afternoon tea was served. Mrs. Elsmore will give a talk at the next meeting on her experiences when presented to the Lord Mayor of London at the Guildhall as the representative of the Maori people.
