: CASES IN LOWER HUTT Two positive case o£ poliomyelitis were diagnosed in the Hutt Valley fj- area on Monday. One was a child aged 10 years and the other an adult female. The school the child attends has 4 been closed after pamphlets were issued to the pupils. The Lower Hutt City Council decided on Monday ■night, at the suggestion of Councillor B. Matthews to ask the district medical officer of health to consider the question of closing places of amusement to children under sixteen years of age, in view of the increase in cases of poliomyelitis in the district. Councillor Matthews said that schoolboys’ football matches would not be played on Saturday.
