— * INCREASE IN CONSUMERS
During May 110 new installations were connected to the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board’s system. At i May 31 the number of domestic installations was 19,798, compared with 18,417 in- the* same month last year, an increase of 1381, or 7.50 per cent.; commercial installations, 2035 (I 860), increase of 109 or 9.00 per cent.; industrial installations, 895 (821), increase of 74 or 9.02 per cent. The number of consumers at May 31 was 22,053, compared with *20,483, an increase of 1570, 0r„7.G7 per cent.
Other figures presented at the last meeting of the Board were: Ranges connected, 10,230 (9,002), increase of 1,228 or 13.65 per cent.; water heaters connected, 11,053 (9,782), increase of 1,271 or 12.99 per cent..; connected load in kilowatts, 246,384 (218,536), increase of 27,848 or 12.74 per cent.; combined system K.V.A. peak for quarter to date, 25,330 (25,685), decrease of 355 or 1.38 per cent.; units for period (4 weeks), 8,819,066 (7,249,684), increase- of 1,569,382 or 21.66 per cent.; units for quarter to date, 19,004,345 (14,850,936), increase of 4,153,409 or 27.94 per cent.; units for financial year to date, 19,004;, 345 (14,850,936), increase of 4,153,409 or 27.94 per cent.
