TAITA WOMEN'S GUILD

STRONG PROTEST MADE The first of a series of evening meetings of the Taita Co-operative Women's Guild was held in the Taita Community Hal! recently. The president, Mrs. P. Williams, presided over an excellenl attendance of members. An address was given by Mr. J. 0. < Aitken. acting general manager of j tiie Hint Valley Consumers" Cooperative Society, who dealt with | the problem of grocery lines that were at present in short supply. A strong protest was made against the continued restriction of water] beating for domestic purposes when other restrictions were being lifted, and a resolution to be forwarded to tin- general manager of the Hint Val-i ley Electric Power Board was passed I unanimously. A number of members volunteered to help on two days to sort and pack the"clothes for China which had been collected in the recent clothes drive organised by CORSO. A collection for a food parcel to a Co-operative Women's Guild in Britain realised 15/-. The Guild choir contributed two part-songs and the Drama Circle presented a play reading.
