PLUNKET BALL

COLOURFUL AND ENJOYABLE The annual ball of the Lower Hutt branch of the Plunket Society, which was held in the Horticultural Hall on Friday night, was a very enjoyable affair. The president, Mrs. Ashford Harris, was responsible for the beautiful decorations. Mrs: P. Dowse, president of the Waterloo branch of the society, and Mrs. Provost, president of the TaitaKnox branch, were among the official guests. Two debutantes, Miss Nonette Christopher and Miss Alison Christopher, were presented to the Mayor and Mayoress.

The committee comprised Mesdiimes J. Ashford Harris (president), Anderson (secretary and treasurer), J. W. Andrews and A. A. Davies (vice-presidents), W. Nash, F. Lonsdale, E. Cameron, E. Craighead, J. Fletcher, A. F. Benning, E. R'eeves, E. McGee, W. L. Hooson, McPherson Jones, Burnard, D. V. Cooksley. Mrs. Williams was the supper convener.
