! CLEARING OF WEED * The engineer (Mr. H. Sladden) res' ported to the last meeting of the Hutt River Board that the work of clearing the Waiwhetu Stream by the Public Works Department was progressing well. Mr. Sladden pointed out that once the job of clearing the stream of snags was completed the Board would have to turn its mind to some means of clearing the weed other than by hand. It would depend upon the depth of water in the Stream.
