CIVIC PRIDE

DISPLAY OF MANUFACTURES The Retailers’ Association asked <j|he executive of the Hutt Valley • Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at its last meeting, for an expression of opinion regarding a suitable date next year for the proposed exhibition of goods manufactured in the Hutt Valley. Mr. E. S. Carey, representing the Retailers’ Association, said that, the main object of the exhibition was to build up civic pride. At present many people did not realise the variety of goods that, was being • manufactured in the Hutt. Valley. Practically all the shop windows in Lower Hutt would be available lor the display. In view of the present shortage of manufactures it was considered that the exhibition could not. be held until the spring of next year. The manufacturers would be right behind the retailers in making the exhibition a success.
