FANCY DRESS PARTY

TAITA—KNOX PLUNKET The Taita —Knox sub-branch of the Plunket Society held its annual fancy dress parity on June 15th at the Naenae Bowling Club pavilion, Mitchell Park, which had been generously put at its disposal by the Bowling Club. The president, Mrs. C. <3. Prevost, welcomed Mesdames H. Turbott and J. M. Watt, who judged the fancy costumes; Mr. Bryan O'Brien, who had kindly given his assistance to entertain the children; Mrs. Meyrick, who acted as pianist; and Mr. McFarlane. - Elocutionary and dancing items were given by Lorraine Faulkner,- Juliet Reviers and Trilby Williams. Prize winners were as follows: Five years and under. Girls: Lorraine Linton, "Great Grandma," 1; Janice Krebs, "Early Victorian," 2; Beverley Matheson, "Bandbox" 3. Boys: John Vaughan, "Pirate," 1; Raymond ; McCutcheon, "Mexican," 2; Peter Linton, "Victorian Maiden" 3. Six and seven years. Girls: Lorraine MConachie, "Mae West," 1; Pat Beard, "Topsy," 2; Diana Halbord 3. Boys: Teddy, Meldrum, "Victorian Gentleman," 1; Ross Barnett, "Five of Spades" 2; Ross Gregg, "Cowboy," 3. Eight years and over. Girls: Elizabeth Campbell, "Jester," 1; Nan O'Shea, "Snowman," 2; Alison Watt, "Gypsy Fortuneteller," 3. Boys: Robert Barrett, '"Absentminded Professor," 1; lan McDonald and John Windley "Darkies," equal Most Original Costume: Anne Keach, "Home Gardener." Best Group: "Goldilocks and three bears", Rosalind Reviers, Catherine, Robin and Jimmy Moffatt.
